Jamie's head snapped up and she opened her mouth to protest when Luke moved her, then she saw the woman. She looked as if she could be pretty, except she looked too cold and... mean. Her eyes darkened when the woman, clearly Luke's mother, started yelling, and she flinched a bit at the name she called her.
Enraged that she was being so mean and that she was treating Luke like, well, scum, Jamie let go of the dog and stood, her eyes narrowed dangerously. "What?" she hissed, her fists clenched at her sides. She knew that Luke probably wouldn't appreciate her standing up for him, but someone had to. No one deserved to be treated that badly.
"What did you call me?" she growled, feeling bleed seep from her fists where her fingernails bit into her palms. She stood in front of Luke, as if to protect him from his mother's wrath.

The dog growled at Luke`s mother, her lip curling. There was pure hatred in her eyes. She jumped towards Luke`s mom, barking like crazy.

Luke's head hung, and he wished he could be blown away.
"Jamie.." He began, but was interrupted by his mother.
"Shut up. Luke, get to the house, now." She growled, glaring at Jamie and the dog. From behind her back she pulled a long metal stick with an electric shock at the end, which she waved dangerously at the yapping dog. Luke sighed.
"No." He said, his voice calm, but stern. Her eyes flickered to him, and her cheeks reddened more.
"You'll not say no. Go. Now." She ordered between clenched teeth. Luke angrily flung his foot, attempting to kick the annoying dog. He wasn't in the mood. He turned and walked the opposite direction from the pool's exit, and instead sat at a table further away. His arms crossed over his chest, ad he glared at the shimmering water.

Jamie placed a hand on the dog's back, hoping to calm it, and looked helplessly at Luke as he went and sat far away. She didn't know what to do, she wanted to go comfort Luke, but the dog needed help or it would get taken away. She glanced at Luke's mother and looked back down at the dog nervously, "Come on, puppy, let's go." she said softly, tugging at it's fur gently.

With a huff, Luke's mother turned and left. Her car mat very unhealthy putting noises as it pulled out of the place, and Luke felt himself blushing. How embarassing. -_-'
"Well so much for going home tonight." He mumbled under his breath, glaring at the water, hoping to get back some of the summer joy he'd been feeling not five minutes.
